Adrienne had recently moved from Saskatchewan to Brantford with her family so that her son could pursue his dreams of playing lacrosse.
Adrienne had been a practicing Nurse in Saskatchewan since 2010. Her transition took some time as she waited to be accepted from the College of Nurses. During this time, she found part time employment as a Janitor. Going from a full-time nurse salary to a part time janitorial pay was very humbling to say the least. When the acceptance of her nursing license was approved, sadly she did not have the funds to pay for the License.
Tracy from SOAR was very helpful.. She understood that the amount was not a usual amount approved by the program. She explained the process very thoroughly. Tracy assured her that she would go to bat for her. Her compassion made her feel heard and seen.
She is now a Registered practical nurse with the College of Nurses in Ontario and she would not have been able to do it without Tracy and the help from SOAR.
Her family and Adrienne are so grateful for the help and support.
